Sometimes you just have to throw on something wild and do something outworldy!

Doing creative shoots like this is fuel for my soul! I love thinking outside the box and it’s always so beautiful how things come together. Being inspired by color and weird locations is my favorite thing ever and then taking a beautiful human and putting her in that place, mmmm… it’s just pure MAGIC! Sets my heart on fire!!

Ms J | Iowa Boudoir Photographer

Ms J was the first ever client I shot when I opened the doors to my Iowa studio expansion. Prior to this I had a smaller 400sp foot space. I always knew I wanted to expand and at least double it and when we finally made that happen, I could not wait to get clients in my doors. This side of my studio offers a lot more mood and just has a really sexy, dark bedroom type appeal. I’ve literally shot nearly 100 women in this new space and everyone loves it! Enjoy these simple yet sexy shots of J! Hair and make by Beauty By Jasmine.

Ms P | Iowa Boudoir Photographer

I have worked with Ms P a few times now and I absolutely love photographing her! Her energy is intoxicating and we always have the most amazing conversations. You could say we’ve become friends. Hair and make by Beauty By Jasmine

“You are literally one of the only photographers that makes me feel like a goddess. I always feel so pretty and rejuvenated after a shoot with you. You always re-instill my confidence.”

Ms P | Siouxland Boudoir Photographer

For Ms P’s boudoir session, we headed for the hills and found the prettiest little farm to shoot her session. I loved styling this session for her! From the location, to the bodysuit, hair and makeup ideas and even the custom made bolo necklace, she’s totally giving off the most beautiful boho vibes!

Are you interested in having a more custom session like this? Send me an email and let’s chat about your dream shoot! I’d love to help you bring it to life!

I lost myself trying to please everyone else. Now I’m losing everyone while I’m trying to find myself.
This quick session with Ms J happened deep in the woods of Canada last Summer. My time with her was brief but oh so loved. I could have taken her confidence, bottled it up, and sold it like gold. Women like this give the strength I need to continue “finding” myself and I am so grateful when souls like this come into my life.

So here's how this shoot goes.  Amy finds killer boots. Amy meets Ms A.  Amy finds amazing location. Ms A agrees to location and brings the most incredible vintage lingerie.  Amy has a matching denim jacket in the back of her car and randomly has Ms A throw it on last minute.  MAGIC IS MADE.  We literally shot these images for three minutes and I am obsessed! I feel like my last minute sessions turn out so incredibly and I just want to be spontaneous more often.  I hope you all love these as much as I do! Happy Tuesday!

Shoot For Yourself | Candlelight Boudoir Session

Amy Cloud PhotographyCandle Boudoir 004.jpg

Hey babes! Happy Thursday.  I wanted to share a recent session with you that I am kind of in love with.  I'll be honest, the lighting situation with this shoot was a little tricky.  I don't use studio lighting. It's just not my jam. I am a natural light girl all the way. My prime hours of shooting in studio (depending on the time of year) is typically between the hours of 10 am-4 pm.  I am in a boudoir photography group that has started doing monthly challenges and our first challenge was "Light Source". We had to shoot in a different type of lighting situation than what we normally do. And you know your girl wasn't about to go out and spend a few hundred dollars (on the cheap end) on a studio lighting set that she would never use again (okay I can't say never because who knows what the future holds).  As I brainstormed, I wanted it to be something that would push me and be a little tricky.  And not that  I was the first every to do a candlelight shoot but it was one of the first ideas to pop into my head.  I actually had a lot of these candles already, because you know, bitches love candles. Kidding...kinda. I picked up some tea lights a week later and got to planning. I really didn't know what to expect when it came to how I would light my subject and honestly, I chose to do these photos in my house like the day of the session vs in my studio.  I'd be fine right? Honestly, anything I've ever done creatively that was last minute ended up being some of my favorite shoots of all time. I'll definitely be adding this session to the list of favs. The editing was hard too. There were parts of the raw files that had a blue cast in one part of the image and then warm casts in other parts. If you know me as a photographer, you know I am picky AF about white balance and skin tones. I powered through though and am in love with how these turned out. My creative little heart is thrilled with this session. I hope you all love them too. Jasmine slayed it on hair and makeup!

Oh Dani. This girl. She is magic. I really don't have a better word to describe her. She is confident, the nicest human being, an amazing mother, loves adventure, she's funny, sexy, caring. We shot these in Moab, Utah just out in the red rocks at a random location. As much as I loved taking these photos of her, I think I loved getting to know her more than anything. Nights on the patio, sipping wine, stargazing, sharing life experiences... hopes... dreams.  I just really am grateful for souls like her's.  Thank you for making this job of mine so damn wonderful my friend. I love you! Being a boudoir photographer has truly introduced me to some of the most amazing women. And a huge thank you to Hailey Boam for rocking out this hair and makeup! I love you too!

Ms E | Omaha Boudoir Photographer

Ms E came to visit me at my Iowa boudoir studio from Omaha. In all reality, it's not that far for Omaha ladies. Just a quick 1 hour and 45 minute drive, most of it being interstate.  And no worries, you won't have to take any gravel roads. I love when clients travel a distance to get here. It tells me they truly love what I do and won't just settle for someone in their city.  Hell yeah! This is just a small snippet of all the gorgeousness we created that day.  So much more to come! Nothing like the desert, some wind, and a black bodysuit. Simple is where its at babes. You don't need all the bells and whistles to create something super sexy and gorgeous!  I know we are just getting into Winter but DAMN, I am ready to get out onto the Utah desert and shoot some gorgeous gals.  Until then, I'll be planning some super epic stuff for 2019!  I am so stoked for a fresh, new year!

Oh this one...

So cute story about our session. I don't know if this girl has ever been complimented in her life. As a boudoir photographer its not only my job to take photos but also to build you up and make you feel confident during your session.  I am of course genuine about it.

This one knocked me dead. Like damn! I could NOT STOP complimenting her.  Like, so pretty and SO NICE.  At first she seemed a little taken off guard and then the next thing you know, she's asking me if I can be her best friend. HA! I love my job you guys.  There is NOTHING better in this world than making women feel beautiful and to help them see how amazing they are on the inside is even better!

I didn't want this session to end but holy hell it was freezing. October is supposed to be colorful and beautiful and warm.  The later of the three wasn't the case. We are talking 35 degrees with gusting winds.  I just wanted to grab her and hug her most of the session to keep her warm. She powered through though and in the short time we were together, magic happened.  I don't think these images would have turned out the same had it not been windy. I'm literally in love. And Tahnee is just one of those souls thats so damn nice, you have to question if she's real.  And then you snap out of and realize that she is whats good in this world.  Thank you babe for coming and spending the day.  You have an amazing spirit and I look forward to working with you again in the future!

It Starts With Us

Waking up to the news about the Las Vegas shooting on Monday morning was such a shock! My first thought was "why?" Since then I've seen people duking it out on social media over gun control, hate for the president, racism... just craziness. We should be standing together and instead we continue the virus and spread hate. Calling someone an effing idiot because their opinion isn't the same as yours is just ignorant. Bullying and poking fun is just wrong. Why are we so quick to be assholes to each other? While I'm at it, the body shaming, mommy shaming, competition over appearance and materialistic things, bullying on and offline.... ugh! We have to stop. Everyone is resorting to prayer and while I'm one to send one up to the big guy here and there, the issue starts with us. I'm not assuming the guy who shot everyone had any of these things happen to him throughout life but it will be interesting to see his motives if and when they come out. My point is, prayer and gun control, and building walls and all the other yadda yadda will only go so far. It starts with us. We need to have each other's backs, we need to start being nice again. We need to bring humanity back. It's so simple... just be nice.

My apologies for dropping the F bomb. I use it when I'm passionate about something and I hope I got your attention. #befuckingnice

Um, hello gorgeous! This one is the definition of beauty and grace. She is kind, quick to compliment, and you can tell she just loves the hell out of her family. Seeing the adventures they have inspires me to hopefully be a "cool mom" one day.  I know I always say it, but g-damn, I have the best clients.  Every single one of them! The beauty on the outside is a given but the beauty on the inside is just unmatched! True story! Happy Thursday!

Cindy | Iowa Boudoir Photographer

020Amy Cloud PhotographyIowa Boudoir Photographer.jpg

This woman is just incredible! She has been one of my biggest cheerleaders during my career and pretty much all throughout life! I am so grateful for her! She sent me such an amazing testimonial earlier today and I knew I had to share it as part of this blog post!  Thank you Cindy for sharing this with me! You definitely made me tear up and I feel so lucky to know you!! And girl, you are STUNNING!!!

"Well, here I am!!! 58 years young and still enjoying my life. I clean houses for a living, I have 3 children and 11 grandchildren. Who would have thought right? Love my family so much and my dear love, John. I want to share with you how my boudoir shoot went. When Amy let my know what day and time, I was like " okay cool" "no big deal" until I was driving to meet up with her. My heart was pounding so hard but I kept saying "I can't wait". I have always watched Amy's page with all of the beautiful people and thought, darn it Cindy, let's do this!!!  Older women are so beautiful too but we don't see it in ourselves until you look at that first picture. "WOW" I AM BEAUTIFUL!!!  My biggest fear, was not knowing what to wear, so thank you Amy for your help and expertise. The shoot was so amazing, creative, fun, sexy, thrilling, scary, the best time of my life. My favorite part about all this is how I felt with each picture that Amy took. I could see myself in the shots she showed me on her camera and felt more confident with every shot. I want all women to get out there, have some fun, and learn to look at themselves as beautiful. I have been showing my pictures to strangers!!! What??? I know, I am so excited about these photos and want other women to do it too. I got a couple of older women interested today! These make me want to cry and laugh because I can't believe how I look. Amy is so wonderful in helping you stand, positioning your hands or arms, and telling you how to position your chin so you don't get the double chin that we see every day. Amy Cloud, I love you so much and I am so forever grateful  for you helping me to feel and be beautiful and I would not hesitate for one minute to put every picture on Facebook or hang them in every room in my house. So tastefully done my love."

Will we ever be truly happy with ourselves? Will I ever be skinny enough, can't I just have straight hair, what about these 11's I got going on between my eyebrows? My feet are huge, and I have little moles dotted throughout my entire body. I'm shaped like a boy-no curve at all in my mid section because I have really long legs and the tops of my hips about run into the bottom of my rib cage.

Ya know what though? Despite these things that society or the media wouldn't deem perfect, I am so damn happy. I have food on the table every day, I constantly get complimented on my hair, and these 11's I got going on are due to the hours of working spent behind my computer hustling while making a living doing something I love. My feet have carried me through so many amazing experiences and places and these little moles are cute and give my bod some character. I might not have a lot of curve to me but I am happy for long legs that help me to reach high and run fast.

My point is that we need to be better at loving ourselves and embracing our imperfections and or working on the things we can. I'll be honest though, you'll probably never reach perfection and that's OKAY! If you want to be over here with me being imperfectly perfect, I would love some new pals!
